Essentials of Sleep Technology: Exploring the AASM Manual for the Scoring of Sleep and Associated Events is a series of four weekly webinars will review changes in sleep study evaluation mandated by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine beginning July 1, 2008, and included in the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists examination beginning September 2008. The four one-hour sessions will provide background, review the new scoring rules, and explore examples from recordings that illustrate application of the rules.

The last webinar in the series, AASM Scoring Frequently Asked Questions, is Wednesday, August 27, 2008, at 12 p.m. CT. Participants will learn the differences between Rechtschaffen and Kales and the AASM Manual for the Scoring of Sleep and Associated Events, review the rules for scoring sleep and associated events, and discuss the answers to frequently asked questions.
