Clarification of Standards for Accreditation: Facilities Undergoing Significant Changes

As a reminder, facilities that are undergoing a significant change such as relocation or change in ownership status must contact the AASM within 90 days of the change. In most circumstances, a center or laboratory will be required, under the special circumstances section of the application, to submit a complete application. Applications fees will be waived.

The facility will receive a 90-day extension of accreditation while the application is being reviewed. This will be followed by a site visit, the direct costs of which will be paid by the facility. The report of the site visitor will be reviewed by the Executive Committee and, if approved, accreditation will continue through the original term.
