TARGET AUDIENCE
This course is intended for sleep medicine specialists looking to expand and sharpen clinical skills.
COURSE OVERVIEW
During this two-day course, an expert faculty will discuss the state-of-the-art of sleep medicine. The course will go beyond the basics to explore diagnostic, therapeutic and technologic issues for sleep clinicians. Attendees should expect to be challenged with integration of new methodologies into current practice, new patient management strategies and a discussion of unusual cases.
Each year the course chair selects several “hot topics” that go beyond the standard practice of sleep medicine. The faculty is comprised of senior scientists who are engaged in clinical activity and state-of-the-art research.
COURSE OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of the course, participants will be able to:
- Debate new theories of the causes of sleep disorders
- Appraise metabolic, endocrine, behavioral and performance consequences of sleep disorders
- Apply up-to-date information and evidence-based knowledge to the clinical management of patients with a variety of sleep disorders
- Integrate new technologies in their practice of sleep medicine
