Course Description
During this course, an expert faculty will discuss the state-of-the-art of sleep medicine. Each year, the course covers several “hot topics” that go beyond the standard practice of sleep medicine to explore diagnostic, therapeutic and technologic issues for sleep clinicians. Attendees should expect to be challenged with integration of new methodologies into current practice, new patient management strategies and a discussion of unusual cases.
Target Audience
This course is intended for sleep medicine specialists looking to expand and sharpen clinical skills.
Course Objectives
Upon completion of the course, attendees will be able to:
- Debate new theories of the causes of sleep disorders;
- Appraise metabolic, endocrine, behavioral and performance consequences of sleep disorders;
- Apply up-to-date information and evidence-based knowledge to the clinical management of patients with a variety of sleep disorders; and
- Integrate new technologies in their practice of sleep medicine.

The American Academy of Sleep Medicine designates the Current Topics in Sleep Medicine course as a live activity for a maximum of 16.00 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
