Clinical Guidelines provide physicians with comprehensive recommendations for the evaluation, diagnosis, treatment and follow-up of patients with sleep disorders. These guidelines are developed by a task force of experts who combine evidence-based Practice Parameters with consensus-based recommendations to provide overall treatment strategies for patients.
Best Practice Guides provide the best recommendations possible on topics of narrow scope with little high-quality evidence until further research is reported. Each paper is reviewed by independent content experts and approved by the AASM Board of Directors. All papers are reviewed at least every 5 years and updated as necessary.
