The Committee on Accreditation for Polysomnographic Technologist Education (CoAPSG) is a committee sponsored by AASM, AAST and BRPT. Its main function is to review applications from programs that plan to provide certificate or associate degree education for polysomnographic technologists, guide applicants during the accreditation process and formulate accreditation recommendations which are then considered by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP). Graduates of accredited sleep technology programs are eligible for the BRPT examination.

Each sponsoring organization has three representatives on the CoA PSG. At this time the AASM is seeking volunteers to serve on the CoA PSG Board of Directors. Board members serve 3-year terms and are required to attend monthly one-hour teleconferences and one face-to-face meeting in June during the SLEEP meeting, serve as program liaisons to schools interested in accreditation services, review assigned applications, provide recommendations on a site visit approval to CoA PSG and complete one to two site visits per year as needed.

Members interested in serving on the CoAPSG Board of Directors are invited to submit a letter of interest and a bio-sketch of no more than three to five pages to Jordana Money, Executive Assistant at jmoney@aasm.org or fax it to (708) 492-0943.

If you have questions contact Anna Quintanilla, Specialty Society Manager at aquintanilla@aasm.org or (708) 492-0930.
