Senate Finance Committee Chair Max Baucus (Mont.) said that he anticipates the latest Congressional Budget Office (CBO) analysis of his committee’s health system reform bill by mid-week and suggested that a Committee vote could take place by the end of the week. The Committee postponed the vote after members indicated their preference to review the latest cost scores before proceeding.

A preliminary estimate of the bill projects that it would raise $121.2 billion in revenue over 10 years. Revenue would be generated from proposed annual fees on health insurance companies, drug makers and medical device manufacturers. Industry groups also would not be able to deduct the fees from their taxes.
