AASM Weekly Update
Friday, July 2, 2010
Earlier this week CMS announced that it is offering physicians and other practitioners, whose current participation status is non-participating, the opportunity to become participating (PAR). This opportunity is available through July 16, 2010. Non-participating physicians/practitioners who would like to become a participating physician/practitioner should download and complete the Medicare Participating Physician or Supplier Agreement (Form CMS-460).
Did you know that physicians who are identified by the Medicare program as “non-participating” may still provide care for Medicare beneficiaries and receive payment by the program? Learn more by reading this article on the AASM website. It explains how Medicare sets different payment levels for services provided by participating and non-participating physicians.
