On Saturday, April 16, 2011, the AASM will host a Scoring of Sleep Workshop at the AASM national office in Darien, Illinois (a suburb of Chicago). This comprehensive workshop will provide participants with the necessary background and explanations to understand the rules of the AASM Manual for the Scoring of Sleep and Associated Events. The workshop is ideal for both sleep technicians and technologists as well as physicians who wish to gain a basic review of scoring.

During the workshop, Richard Rosenberg, PhD, AASM Director of Professional Education and Training, will guide attendees through all aspects of the sleep study scoring process, beginning with a brief review of filter settings and electrode placement followed by an in-depth discussion of the scoring rules with illustrations of key points and tables to summarize scoring strategies. Participants will have the opportunity to gauge their understanding of topics through a workshop pre-test, lectures including audience response questions, and a workshop post-test.

Registration for this workshop will end Wednesday, April 13, 2011, and onsite registration will not be accepted. For more information about this workshop, or to register, visit the Sleep Education Series portion of the AASM website or contact the AASM meeting department by sending an e-mail to education@aasm.org or by calling 630-737-9700.
