From 2007 through 2009, the AASM hosted several live, online webinar series covering topics related to the blueprint of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) sleep medicine certification exam. Following these live webinars, the AASM archived each presentation to CD-ROM for future exam preparation. The presentations were led by experts in the field and are grouped into several series of related topics:

  • Board Review Study Sessions: During these 90-minute presentations, an expert facilitates a discussion on medical content areas listed in the exam blueprint using questions from the AASM online practice exams as a starting point for discussion.
  • Board Review for the Nonspecialist: These webinars were designed for candidates of the exam who wish to cover the basics in areas outside of their primary specialty area.
  • Board Review Trouble Spots: The presentations in this series cover topics from the 2007 exam in which candidates faired poorly.
  • Case-Based Board Review: These webinars begin with an illustrative case and provide guidance in determining differential diagnosis, recommendations for evaluation, final diagnosis and a treatment plan.

With the introduction of the new AASM Online Learning Center, several of these presentations have been remastered to improve audio quality and compatibility with the AASM Online Learning Center, which allow members to stream multimedia presentations on demand from the AASM website. The board review webinars are now available for purchase through the AASM Online Store. Members may purchase the presentations for 3-day, 30-day or 1-year access. Please note that the pricing for the board review webinars differs from other online learning modules because these presentations do not offer CME credit. To view descriptions for each of the more than 15 board review presentations available as online learning modules through the AASM website, visit the AASM Online Store.
