Eligible professionals participating in the Medicare or Medicaid Electronic Health Record (EHR) incentive program must complete their reporting period by the end of 2012 in order to receive an incentive payment. The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) EHR Incentive Program website includes resources for registering for the EHR incentive program and understanding EHR reporting. In addition to completing the reporting period, participants are also required to complete an attestation for the 2012 program by Feb. 28, 2013. CMS has developed an Attestation User Guide to assist eligible professionals in the attestation process.
