Some of the research that was spotlighted at SLEEP 2013, the 27th Annual Meeting of the Associated Professional Sleep Societies, LLC, generated some national coverage. A study that links workplace daylight exposure to sleep, activity and quality of life appeared in the Huffington Post and many other media outlets.

Another study about sleep deprived men over perceiving women’s sexual interest and intent received a quite a bit of media attention. Coverage appeared in The Atlantic, Men’s Fitness and Men’s Health to name a few.

Other research that received attention included a study that associates frequent binge drinking with insomnia symptoms in older adults, a study linking fatigue and sleep to MLB performance and career longevity and a study linking sleep duration and suicidal thoughts among people with insomnia.
