Eligible professionals have less than a week left to submit a hardship exception application. Applications for hardship exception are due on July 1 and can be found on the CMS EHR website. Hardship exceptions, if approved, are valid for a single year. For providers unsure of whether they qualify for hardship, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) have developed an interactive tool. The tool will help professionals determine if they can meet EHR meaningful use requirements or if they may qualify for one of the exception categories.
