The Physician Quality Reporting System (PQRS) is a quality measure reporting program developed by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. Once again, for reporting year 2014 the AASM has partnered with CECity to offer an easy registry option, called PQRSwizard, to report PQRS measures. The PQRSwizard website is open now for 2014 PQRS measure reporting.

Why PQRSwizard?  PQRSwizard is a qualified registry approved by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) for PQRS reporting.  It is an easy step by step tool with a success rate of over 99.5 percent. PQRSwizard offers providers the option to report the Sleep Apnea measures group or select from a number of other related measures groups including COPD, Diabetes Mellitus, and Parkinson’s Disease. Providers who participate in PQRSwizard through the AASM receive a discounted enrollment rate of $225.

Incentives and Penalties: The AASM is encouraging members to participate in PQRS in 2014 to avoid payment penalties. Providers who successfully participate in the 2014 PQRS program avoid a 2.0 percent penalty in 2016. 2014 is also the last year for providers to earn an incentive for participating in PQRS.  An incentive of 0.5 percent of Medicare allowable charges is awarded to providers who successfully participate in PQRS.
