The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services announced in an educational article published in late August that it would conduct three testing weeks in advance of the Oct. 1, 2015 implementation date of ICD-10. The testing weeks will be:

  • Nov. 17-21, 2014
  • March 2-6, 2015
  • June 1-5, 2015

Testing will be conducted by all Medicare Administrative Contractors (MACs). Participation in testing is intended to help providers assess their preparedness for ICD-10 implementation. MAC help-desks will be open during the testing to help resolve any issues. The AASM will include additional information about ICD-10 testing as the testing weeks approach.
