A study in the September issue of the Journal of Clinical Sleep Medicine reports that Mallampati score and tonsillar size are independent predictors of pediatric obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). According to the authors, oral examination may help prioritize sleep studies for earlier diagnosis and management of pediatric OSA.
