CMS extends EHR meaningful use attestation deadline

In an announcement published Feb. 25, 2015, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) extended the deadline for Medicare eligible professionals attesting to meaningful use. The Electronic Health Record (EHR) Incentive Program attestation deadline for the 2014 reporting year has been pushed back to 11:59 p.m. EDT on March 20, 2015. Providers still interested in attesting to meaningful use can do so through the EHR Registration and Attestation System on the CMS website. CMS also has developed a number of educational resources to guide providers through attestation.
