The National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute is inviting public participation in its Strategic Visioning Initiative, which will shape the scientific priorities for the NHLBI and guide its funding strategies across the entire spectrum of heart, lung, blood, and sleep diseases. Currently the NHLBI is requesting input on the most compelling questions (i.e., identifying scientific knowledge gaps and opportunities) and critical challenges (i.e., barriers or impediments that hinder scientific progress or overcoming a challenge).

Submissions for this round are due no later than May 15, 2015. All submissions will be reviewed and synthesized into draft NHLBI Strategic Vision Scientific Priorities, which will be released for public comment in summer 2015.
