All students, postdoctoral fellows and residents who are members of the AASM and under 40 years of age are eligible to apply for the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) Young Investigator Award.

According to the requirements, it is expected that the Young Investigator Award applicant will have first author status on the abstract and will have played an important role in conducting the research. The AASM Research Committee will evaluate abstract submissions for scientific merit and provide recommendations to the AASM Board of Directors for final selection. The recipient and up to four honorable mentions will be recognized and honored at SLEEP 2008.More information on the award is available on the new SLEEP Web site www.sleepmeeting.org/Awards.aspx.

Application for the AASM Young Investigator Award is through the online abstract submission system for SLEEP 2008. During the application process, candidates must indicate their intent to apply for the award, and provide their AASM Membership ID Number, date of birth, and the name of the senior investigator involved with the project.

Candidates must complete the submission process before Friday, December 17, 2007.
