Hypoxia brought on by obstructive sleep apnea could represent a risk to the auditory pathway, suggests a study in the May issue of the Journal of Clinical Sleep Medicine. According to the authors, the lowest oxyhemoglobin saturation measured during polysomnography could be predictive of possible hearing loss in patients with severe OSA.
