A study published in the July issue of the journal SLEEP characterizes secular trends in diagnosed sleep disorders among nearly 10 million veterans seeking care in U.S. Veterans Health Administration facilities from 2000 to 2010. Results show that sleep apnea (47%) and insomnia (26%) were the most common diagnoses among patients with any sleep disorder, and there was a six-fnew relative increase in total sleep disorder prevalence over the study period.
