A study in the August issue of the Journal of Clinical Sleep Medicine reports that a mandibular advancement device (MAD) can be as successful as continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) therapy for patients with positional obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). According to the authors, the results suggest that oral appliance therapy may be a promising, patient-tailored treatment option for positional OSA.
