A new study in the Dec. 15 issue of the Journal of Clinical Sleep Medicine resulted in recommendations for changing the current CDC Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS) sleep questions. The recommendations include changes to the questions of (1) insufficient opportunity to sleep, (2) sleep disorders, (3) daytime consequences of insufficient sleep or a sleep disorder, and (4) drowsy driving and/or performing other hazardous activities while excessively sleepy that cause harm to self or others in society.
