After analyzing the impact of its Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report (MMWR) articles throughout traditional and social media, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) included two sleep-related articles in its 10 Most Talked About MMWR Reports of 2016:
- Prevalence of Healthy Sleep Duration among Adults — United States, 2014, which found that more than a third of U.S. adults report sleeping less than 7 hours on average in a 24-hour period.
- Sleep Duration and Injury-Related Risk Behaviors Among High School Students — United States, 2007–2013, which found that students who reported sleeping 7 hours or less on school nights were more likely to report several injury-related risk behaviors.
