Negative media coverage greatly exacerbated the reporting of adverse drug reactions related to zolpidem, according to a study published in the February issue of the Journal of Clinical Sleep Medicine. According to the authors, the effect of such reporting must be borne in mind when health professionals or regulatory bodies make decisions about drugs that have been the subject of intense media publicity.
