The American Academy of Sleep Medicine invites section members the opportunity to apply for the Chair position of the following membership sections:
Volunteer committee members provide an invaluable service to the organization and its membership by contributing to initiatives and projects that are critical to the continued development of the field. Members also gain professional enrichment through the diverse activities of a committee. Sections provide a forum for members with focused interests to share those interests, discuss ideas, stimulate research and recommend programs that promote education through the AASM. Service as a Membership Section Chair is a one year appointment with a maximum of a three year term. All committee terms take effect in June at SLEEP 2011, 25th Anniversary Meeting of the APSS. The AASM has a conflict of interest policy with which all committee members must comply; interested applicants should review the Conflict of Interest Policy in advance of submitting a Membership Sections Chair Interest Form. Members interested in applying for a Membership Section Chair position must complete the Membership Section Chair Interest Form, Conflict of Interest Disclosure Form and Copyright Assignment Form. Please submit the Membership Section Chair Interest Form, the Conflict of Interest Disclosure Form, the Copyright Assignment Form, a CV summary, no longer than two pages and a one paragraph Bio-Sketch by March 16, 2011. Once all the candidates’ applications have been received and approved, election ballots will be distributed to section members. Elections will be held from March 21-25, 2011. The materials can be sent via e-mail to wwallis@aasmnet.org or fax to (630) 737-9789 or postal mail to: American Academy of Sleep Medicine Attn: William Wallis 2510 N. Frontage Road Darien, IL 60561
