Continuing Education
Continuing Medical Education (CME) Credit for Physicians:
SLEEP 2012 meeting activities have been planned and implemented in accordance with the guidelines of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint sponsorship of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine and the Associated Professional Sleep Societies, LLC. The American Academy of Sleep Medicine is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
The AASM designates SLEEP 2011 as a live activity for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)TM. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
Continuing Education (CE) for Psychologists:
The SLEEP 2012 meeting is co-sponsored by Amedco and the Associated Professional Sleep Societies, LLC. Amedco is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor Continuing Education for psychologists. Amedco maintains responsibility for this program and its content.
Continuing Education (CE) Contact Hours for Nurse Practitioners:
The SLEEP 2012 program will be submitted to the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners for nurse practitioner continuing education contact hours. Further details regarding the number of contact hours awarded for sessions will be available in the SLEEP 2012 Final Program.
Continuing Education for All Other Attendees
The AMA Council on Medical Education mandates that accredited providers only offer AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ to physicians. The AASM will issue a letter of attendance outlining the number of AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ designated for the sessions they attend to individuals who are not eligible for the types of credit noted above.
