Course Overview
This one-and-a-half-day course will provide physician assistants and advanced practice nurses with an overview of normal sleep; common sleep disorders; diagnosing and treating sleep disorders; and billing and documentation. The course will include case-based clinical lectures and several hands-on demonstrations.
Target Audience
This course is intended for physician assistants and advanced practice nurses with 0-1 year of sleep medicine experience who are seeking to expand their practice to include sleep medicine.
Course Objectives
Upon completion of the course, participants will be able to:
- Describe a normal sleep cycle.
- Identify common sleep disorders, the tests used to diagnose sleep disorders and evidence-based guidelines for treating sleep disorders.
- Identify the billing and documentation issues that impact physician assistants and advanced practice nurses.
