The easiest way to update your information is to log in to the Members Only section of the AASM website. Before you log in for the first time you must register to create a username and password. After you log in simply click on the “My Account” link and then click on the “Edit Information” link.
You can find your member number in these places: on the membership card that was mailed to you when you first joined, on your renewal invoice, and on the “My Account” screen when you log in to the Members Only section of the AASM website.

The APSS is the Associated Professional Sleep Societies, which is a joint venture of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine and the Sleep Research Society. The APSS publishes the journal SLEEP and organizes the SLEEP Annual Meeting.
The list of members to be included in the printed Membership Directory is compiled on March 1 of each year. This is the same day when all members who have failed to renew their membership are dropped from the roster of active members. If you join or renew after March 1 you will not be included in the printed Membership Directory, which is mailed to members in the middle of June.

Section membership is a free benefit for all AASM members. You can join any or all of the eight membership sections. You may vote and hold office, however, in only one section that you designate as your primary section affiliation. To join a section simply log in to the AASM website, select the “My Account” link, and select “edit” next to your section affiliation.
You will need a letter from your dean or supervisor that is printed on school or sleep disorders center letterhead, verifying your status as a student. Fax or mail this letter to the AASM with you membership application. If you apply online, you will need to fax or mail the letter to the AASM within one week of your application date.
