Nancy Collop, MD
This module is a crash course on sleep disordered breathing, focusing on obstructive sleep apnea. According to the blueprint of the ABMS sleep medicine exam 20 percent of the questions are on sleep disordered breathing. Dr. Collop reviews the various approaches for sleep apnea screening, diagnosis and treatment. She also discusses common co-morbid conditions, such as diabetes and heart disease.
The Sleep Medicine Board Review Course provides a broad review of sleep medicine, presented by an expert faculty of basic researchers, academicians and clinicians at the forefront of the field. All topics covered mirror the ABMS sleep medicine examination content areas. The course includes a mixture of didactic modules on basic sleep mechanisms and evaluation of polysomnograms, case-based lectures on the entire range of sleep disorders in the International Classification of Sleep Disorders, Second Edition and question-based presentations.
