Sleep Medicine Therapies

February 24-25, 2012
Explores state-of-the-art patient care management in the diagnosis and treatment of various sleep disorders through a mix of traditional lectures, case-based discussions, pro/con debates and panel discussions. Management of commonly encountered sleep disorders in clinical practice will be discussed with emphasis on controversial and debatable areas that sleep clinicians encounter on a daily basis. Discussions will focus on providing relevant updated information and new patient management strategies that a sleep clinician can use in their practice.

Basics of Sleep Center Management

March 3, 2012
The course will focus on the components necessary for managing a successful sleep center including: accreditation, equipment, staffing, budgeting, marketing and reimbursement. During the course, attendees will be provided with the opportunity to network and share best practices as a part of the learning process.

Intermediate Sleep Center Management Series

April 21-22, 2012
The Stategies for Successful Billing course will review insurance policies and what makes for good documentation in the medical record. It will provide multi-session overview of the claims submission process, including information about appealing denials. Fraud and abuse will also be discussed and attendees will be instructed on the development of a compliance plan

Expanding and Improving Your Sleep Center Business course will review the AASM Integrated Sleep Management Model and how components of the model can be added to any sleep center to expand payment opportunities. Afternoon sessions will explore new methods for attracting patients and staff, addressing delinquent payments, contracting with payers and marketing sleep centers. Attendees will close the course with a discussion of best practices.

Introduction to Sleep Technology: An A-STEP Course

October 8-19, 2012
The AASM Accredited Sleep Technology Education Program (A-STEP) Introductory Course is a 90+ hour comprehensive program for sleep technicians new to the field. The two week course provides participants with the practical skills that are essential for a successful career in the profession of sleep technology and includes a mixture of didactic lectures, online learning, practical exercises and observation at a sleep center.
